Student federation ask ESPOL to investigate the case of Glas
Recently the Assemblyman Jorge Escala (MPD) asked the former Minister Coordinator of Strategic Sectors and presidential partner of Rafael Correa, Jorge Glas Espinel to answer to the law for the alleged plagiarism of his thesis.
Yesterday Escala filed a petition for a judicial confession that the 11th Civil Court of Guayas be resolved. The legislator went to the Court of Justice of Guayas with MPD leaders to deliver a sealed envelope with six questions for so that the vice presidential aspirant responds. He also added that Glas must explain to the whole country if the content of the thesis presented to the Espol was written by him or if he took it from somewhere else.
Escala expects that the courts accept their request for a judicial confession and set the time and date for the hearing. While Lady Morales, of the Federation of Secondary Students (FESE), and Enver Orna, of the Revolutionary Youth of Ecuador (JRE), pointed out that the regulation of the law determines the punishment for those who commit an “academic dishonesty,” additionally qualified the complaints against Glas as a bad example for the youth.
