Sucre Usage Gains Strength in Latin America

Caracas, The Unitary System of Regional Compensation of Payments (SUCRE for its Spanish acronym) is consolidated as a mechanism for comercial exchanges between the countries of the Bolivarian Alternative for the People of our America (ALBA).
Last Tuesday, Eudomar Tovar, president of the Sucre Regional Monetary Council, spoke in Valencia, Carabobo state, during the Socialist Front of Business “Rafael Urdaneta” installation ceremony.
“So far a total of 478 transactions were efected this year in Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela, Alba countries members, using the Sucre payment mechanism”, said Tovar.
Vehicles, food products, appliances, urea, among others are being exchanged with the virtual currency. (ARL)
