Rupert Murdoch Discusses the Phone Hacking Issue
Posted On 25 Apr 2012
Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch criticized the journalists that use phone hacking techniques or private detectives. Murdoch called these activities as “a lazy way of reporters doing their job,” as he was grilled due to press ethics and his political influence in the UK.
The tycoon denied using the power of his press for personal gain; he also added that ‘he has never asked the primer minister for anything.’ As Murdoch spoke, the British Prime Minister David Cameron said that politicians had been too close to the powerful media baron over the years.
Rupert Murdoch spent this Wednesday morning defending the attacks against him by Inquiry lawyer Robert Jay efforts to demonstrate that Murdoch had too much influence over British politicians. (AV)
