Supermarkets shall publish their product prices on the web
The Superintendency of Control of Market Power (SPCM for its Spanish acronym) published a new resolution which states that supermarkets and similar dispensing places must display on their websites a list of products with their respective prices. This information shall be available from November, once it enters into force.
The purpose of this request from the SPCM is to promote competition and fair trade between establishments. Thus, the consumer can be informed and choose what item to buy, at what price and where he will acquire it.
The resolution makes reference to other aspects, including several related to the presentation of products on the hangers. It is requested the clear display of the prices and that there is no false advertising to induce the customer to incorrectly select a product.
