Odile hurricane makes landfall in Baja California
The peninsula of Baja California suffers since Sunday the arrival of hurricane “Odile”, which entered in early hours of Monday in the northwest Mexico territory, making the zone to remain in high alert for heavy rains, wind and waves that the tropical cyclone carries.
The Mexican government declared on Sunday the alert in the Baja California Peninsula, located in the northwest, because of the proximity of this area to the powerful hurricane.
Odile is a “highly dangerous (hurricane) and its winds are highly dangerous”, said the Director of the National Water Commission, David Korenfel.
The hurricane winds causes waves from three to eight meters high on the peninsula of Baja California.
Hurricane Odile reached Category 4 on Sunday, of a maximum of 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
