Supreme Court Absolves Baltasar Garzon

This Monday, the Spanish Supreme Court absolved Baltasar Garzon from the charge of abusing of his jurisdiction as judge. Garzon started a trial in 2008 regarding the atrocities committed during the Spanish civil war from 1936 and 1939.
The Spanish judge gained international notoriety when he accepted international cases of human rights. However during the early days of February, the famous judge was suspended for 11-years after he was declared guilty of internal investigations and corruption charges.
A spokesman of the court said that the judges absolved Garzon by 6-1 in the case regarding the civil war. The spokesman requested anonymity in order to make statements to the press in accordance with the Court police. (AV)
