Saleh Hands Over Yemen to Successor

Ali Abdullah Saleh, the outgoing Yemeni president, has formally handed over his office to the vice-president. During a Sunday ceremony in the capital Sanaa, Saleh congratulated Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, his replacement after 33 years of one-man rule.
“All of Yemen’s proud citizens are behind him,” said Saleh after handing Hadi a Yemeni flag. Aljazeera spokesman Hashem Ahelbarra, informed that the situation en Sanaa is tense since Saleh continues to act as a leader and not someone who is going to leave power. (AV)
