Supreme Court Reduces Sentence of Otegi and Diez

The Spanish Supreme Court has reduced the sentence of the old Batasuna former leader Arnaldo Otegi from 10 to six and a half years and also Rafael Diez Usabiaga who is prisoner due to the Bateragune case. Otegi has fulfilled three years of sentence.
The same sentence also that condemns Arkaitz Rodriguez, Sonia Jacinto and Miren Zabaleta was also reduced. The National Hearing sentenced Otegi and the former leader of LAB Rafael Diez to 10 years after considering them authorized spokesmen of the Basque terrorist group, ETA.
However, the Court has not ruled unanimously since the initial speaker, Miguel Colmenero, and the magistrate Alberto Jorge Barreiro have made dissenting declarations. (AV)
