Carlos Gongora Ranked in London 2012

On Tuesday, the classification of ecuadorian boxer Carlos Gongora Mercado for the Olympic Games in London 2012 became official, after his opponent in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Rio de Janeiro, the Dominican Lennon Yankee Bannis, did not show up to fight.

Gongora will assist to his second consecutive Olympic Games. In Beijing 2008 he finished in fifth place.

With the classification of Gongora, there are 22 ecuadorian athletes ranked for London 2012. (ARL)
