Rebels fight for Aleppo
The Syrian regime forces stepped up its efforts to remove rebel forces from Aleppo on Monday. Today the government soldiers opened fire with heavy artillery and mortars, while a jet flew over a district the army had retaken last Sunday.
Meanwhile opposition activists denied that the regime had entered Salaheddine, in the southwest of Aleppo. Several reports have arrived of hospitals and clinics filled with victims and casualties from a week of fighting in Aleppo.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 18 people died last Sunday during the attacks in Aleppo. Rebel activists stated that the president of Syria, Bashar al-Assad will focus on eliminating the rebel forces in the city. (AV)
