To the questionings made to the Special Consumption Tax bill for cigarettes and alcoholic and sugary drinks, announced last week by President Rafael Correa, is added that of businessman Christian Wahli, for whom the measure would only cause a drop in products sales and the increase of smuggling.
The measure would also extend to jobs because sugar is needed for both foodstuffs and to make alcohol, said Wahli, chief executive of the National Association of Manufacturers of Food and Beverages (Anfab), to the Ecuavisa newscast.
