Territorial’s customers keep complaining
After three days of having started the process of returning deposits to savers of the Territorial Bank, as provided in the schedule established by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (COSEDE), the issues regarding the inconsistencies between the list of depositors and the amount allocated to each, persist.
Mirella Arce, former customer of the Territorial, could not withdraw the investment she placed in a policy. “They are keeping almost 30% of what I had saved. I chose not to withdraw it because they want to make me sign a document saying that, if I collect the money, then I would be giving up any extra money that I consider they have not paid me,” he said.
Martha Beltran, another former customer, demanded an explanation of the $ 10,000 of a policy that were not returned.
To meet the former customers who felt “cheated“, employees of the closed bank delivered tickets to savers so they would be personally attended by the Territorial’s liquidator, Carlos Espinoza Torres, who also revealed that he “is working and analyzing the problems of each customer in order to solve them in a short time. ”
Total amount
So far $ 16.6 million in total have been paid to 3182 Territorial Bank depositors.
This figure represents 30% of the value to be paid to the more than 71,000 individuals with deposits of up to $ 31,000.
