The change of Extra gasoline for Ecopaís begins today in Guayas

The Coordinator Ministry of Strategic Sectors said that since today in Guayaquil, Durán, Samborondón and Daule begins the gradual process to commercialize Ecopaís gasoline, which will replace the Extra gasoline.

This fuel has 87 octanes as the Extra gasoline and the price is also the same ($ 1.50 average per gallon).

“It’s a better product because it generates less greenhouse gases polluting the environment,” the ministry said.

This fuel reduces emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide by 100%, Carbon Monoxide (CO) by 30%, nitrous oxides by 20% or volatile organic compounds by 30%.

It will also help to reduce imports of high naphtha and low octane, which would increase from 76% to 62%.
