The classic soccer match between Barcelona and Emelec was exciting, however the game ended in a tie that doesn’t favor any of the teams during the second stage of the National Championship. However the attacks of Barcelona surpassed the expectations of their strategist, Ruben Dario Insua.
The Emelec goalie Marcelo Elizaga performed well, even after Anangono almost scored a goal. In a corner shot, Jose Luis Perlaza also scared Elizaga. Barcelona tried to score a goal with unmoving balls in the game area, and it was close when Jefferson Hurtado made a head strike from a corner shot.
Emelec defense lead by Moranto stopped two advances from Anangono, and barely at the 21 minute of the match, Emelec scared the Barcelona goalie Maximo Banguera. However on the second half of the game the blue team tried to score a goal, but his attempts were blundered due to the intensive mark of Barcelona players to the blue team key figures.
The game was lost due to the frictions on personal marks for some players.
