The CNE and the Nationa Audit Office receive complaints against Marcela Aguinaga

The National Electoral Council (CNE) has received a complaint against Marcela Aguinaga by the affilitation process of Alianza Pais carried out in Guayaquil. Juan Pablo Pozo, president of the electoral body, has confirmed that a process has been opened through his Twitter account.

In fact, the Audit Commission shall draw up a report on this case for the plenary session of the CNE. On July 2, dueing the affiliation process of the government party, the presence of state institutions was observed. As reported by daily El Comercio, there is an audio that invites supporters to join the campaign and access the benefits of these bodies at the site where this affiliation campaign of Alianza Pais took place.

Aguinaga emphatically denies that there was proselytism. “What we have done is to coincide with civic fairs,” said the second vice president of the National Assembly and director of Alianza Pais in Guayas.
