The Delivery of the Diplomatic Suitcase was not Recorded
Three months after the discovery of 40 kilos of liquid cocaine in a diplomatic suitcase sent to Italy from Quito new data emerge.
In a letter sent to the General Secretariat of the Assembly, the Foreign Ministry acknowledged that the official release of the cargo “does not have video camera equipment.” Cristian Puedmag works in this office and, according to a report issued on 29 February by Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño, he was the one who was made the official seals to cargo. Puedmag is prohibited from giving testimony to no media.
The lack of security cameras in the building of Chancery also occurs in the outer east. In mid-March, demonstrators protested outside the Foreign Ministry and sprinkled white powder. Forensic officers collected samples of dust watered and made pictures of the scene, noting that the Ministry has no surveillance of outdoor video cameras.
