Chavez Denies the Rumors About his Health

This Monday the Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, reappeared on the media after eight days of silence to reject from La Habana, Cuba; the rumors about his health regarding the statements that says that the cancer has affected his left hip; and that he will need a cane to move around.

Dr. Jose Marquina assured the Colombian newspaper Semana, that Chavez is in pain and needs assistance to get up from the bed, he walks very slowly with the use of a cane. Chavez admitted that he is receiving a painful treatment to fight cancer, which has led him to submit to several radiotherapy sessions.

Marquina also speculated that the cancer could have extended to the prostate and adrenal glands, as well as part of the muscle tissue surrounding the hipbone of the left side. Chavez would be returning to Caracas on April 26. (AV)
