Several Ecuadorian talents join to be criticized.
After continually complain and criticize the “mediocre” audiovisual productions in Ecuador, a group of young filmmakers from Quito decided to create EnchufeTV, with the expectation of “see what happens”.
Over a year ago, Leonardo Robalino and Andres Centeno decided to start an audiovisual project with movie quality for the internet.
“We complained so much that we came to the conclusion that we should do something to be criticized as well,” said Robalino, manager of Touche-Films Production company, which created EnchufeTV.
Their proposal is based on weekly sketches of irreverent humor with a very popular slang language, produced with high quality standards, taking care of every detail, from concept, script writing, pre-production, filming and edition.
Robalino affirms that thanks to the freedom they have, by not depending on space restrictions or contents, they have been able to develop their creativity and create this program that is attractive to subscribers of Youtube channel.
A year after its launch, the YouTube channel surpassed all expectations imagined. The statistics make them, with no close competitors, the world’s most popular Ecuadorian youtubers. The channel, at the time has an estimated of 78 million reproductions. Each video has generated more than 500,000 visits a day and an equal number of people following on Facebook.
You may wonder why EnchufeTV doesn’t sell advertising on its Youtube channel? It’s because they have not decided to be ‘Partners’ to YouTube or Google. For this to happen, they must work together with digital multinationals and split the profits and for that a Google office is needed in Ecuador or in a neighboring country that accepts the dominion of Enchufe TV.
That’s why EnchufeTV rejects weekly invitations of international companies that offer their services to adhere them to their network. But its creators believe this would outsource their creativity, so they keep waiting for a better offer.
The production company now has the support of entrepreneurs, which have helped re-direct this project to the production of high quality commercials. Also, they are renovating their website www.enchufe.tv.
