The Isaias brothers would have received support from American congressmen
Roberto and William Isaias are currently looking for ways to get permanent residency in the U.S., by seeking support from a group of senators, according to a research by NBC.
Those responsible of advocating for the former owners of Filanbanco are Robert Menendez, Democratic Senator and Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
“At least USD 23,700 for the election campaigns of 2010, 2012 and 2014 of Ros-Lehtinenlos would have been contributed by the Isaias brothers,” says an article published by the American newspaper The Daily Beast.
Menendez, democrat, who is part of the International Relations Committee of the U.S. Senate, also received about USD 10,000 for his campaign of 2012. Apparently, the senator requested through calls and letters written by him to regularize the situation of the Isaias brothers.
This action, according to NBC, has motivated an FBI investigation, although Menendez has denied knowing about it.
