The New Barbie May Be Used by Pedophiles

Posted On 28 Dec 2010

The FBI has sent an international alert dispatch for the “Barbie Video Girl” made by Mattel because they believe that the doll may be used by pedophiles.

In the U.S. the new Barbie was launched on July at a price of $ 80, the novelty of the new doll is a camera that Barbie has at her collar and on her back she has a color LCD screen as if it were a backpack. With these gadgets children can use the doll as a real camera and see what they are recording. The Barbie comes with a USB cable to download the videos that can reach up to 30 minutes. It is also possible to edit and retouch images on the web at the page www.es.barbie.com.

The FBI is concerned because it says that the doll can be used as bait to record children.

Mattel said that they always worry about the welfare of consumers. “We have no problem pulling out of the market products that do not accomplish our rigorous quality control, but in this case there is no risk,” said Victor Palacio, responsible for relations with the press from Mattel Spain.
