The new Citizen Participation Council is already in place

Between cries of the correísta block and the high bars, the National Assembly took possession of the seven main councilors and seven substitutes of the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS).

Before this possession the legislator Carlos Viteri, of the self-styled group of the Citizen Revolution, walked through the plenary session of the Assembly a sign with the legend: “To recover the state of law”, while his block and the bars continued applauding.

The intervention of the Assemblyman Marcelo Simbaña (CREO) was interrupted by the shouting in the plenary session. He wanted to record that he considers that the act of possession of the councilors is illegal, because at his discretion in the National Electoral Council (CNE) a series of irregularities were committed from the beginning of the qualification process of candidacies until the proclamation of the results. .

They took possession and signed the respective minutes: Sofía Almeida, Rosa Chalá, Victoria Desintonio, María Fernanda Rivadeneira, Christian Cruz, Walter Gómez and José Tuárez.

Ibeth Estupiñán, Mariuxi Moreira, Karina Ponce, Juan Javier Dávalos, David Rosero, Hernán Ulloa and Francisco Bravo took office as substitute advisers.

After the ceremony in the Assembly, the new councilors of the CPCCS planned to participate in a symbolic possession prepared by the indigenous and Afro-Ecuadorian peoples and nationalities and migrants abroad in El Arbolito Park.
