The Petroecuador case was reactivated
Ecuadornews:
Under the direction of the national criminal court composed of Judges Richard Villagómez (speaker), Daniella Camacho and Édgar Flores, on Wednesday, July 11, the cassation hearing was set for sentencing for the crime of bribery, in the case of corruption in Petroecuador.
Ten of the 16 sentenced filed the appeal, because during the process the rules of procedure were violated. The lawyer of Carlos P. Y., Reinaldo Zambrano, in his presentation argued that in the ruling of the Provincial Court of Pichincha of November 2017, the principle of favorability was not applied.
Nicolás Salas, lawyer of Alfredo E., added that the will was what stipulates the art. 285 of the Penal Code in force at the date of commission of the offense (in 2011) and not Art. 280 of the Comprehensive Criminal Organic Code (COIP).
Until the closing of this edition, the cassation hearing interposed by the 10 defendants continues. (I)
