The remains of Douglas Rodriguez, victim of the shooting in New Jersey, arrived in Ecuador
Family members of Douglas Miguel Rodríguez Bastidas from Guayaquil met on Tuesday afternoon at the José Joaquín de Olmedo airport, in Guayaquil, to receive his body.

Rodriguez, who lived in New Jersey, United States, died on Tuesday 10 in a shooting in a kosher warehouse in that town, where he worked when two people ventured into it.
Rodriguez’s body arrived at 3:40 p.m. on an Avianca flight. Upon getting off the plane, he received a posthumous tribute by members of the National Police. After this, his body was transferred to the Watch Room # 2 of the Charity Board, in the general cemetery.
Mirella Arcos, a relative of the deceased, said that, according to witness accounts, Rodriguez would have saved several Jewish children who were in the store, before being injured by two subjects.
It is expected that a religious service will be held this Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday where he will receive recognition from the authorities. His funeral will be at 17:00 tomorrow.
The community of Jersey City (New Jersey, United States) is grateful for Rodriguez’s heroic attitude. Inside the kosher grocery store were also killed the client Moshe Deutsch (24 years old) and the wife of the owner of the establishment, Mindel Ferencz (32). Detective Joseph Seals (40) was first killed by the same attackers in a nearby cemetery.
The two attackers were also neutralized.
