The selection starts “Plan Colombia”
With the team almost complete, once some of their players, who are active in foreign clubs, have arrived, the Tri started their preparation to face Colombia next Friday in the hot and humid Barranquilla.
At the same time, the coaching staff, led by Reinaldo Rueda, develops a plan for, four days later, to ace Bolivia in the altitude of La Paz.
Joffre Guerrón (China), Walter Ayoví and Jefferson Montero (Mexico) arrived on Saturday and yesterday already trained with colleagues who currently are playing in the Ecuadorian Soccer Championship. Yesterday, Segundo Castillo and Joao Rojas arrived from Mexico ; and today will arrive Felipe Caicedo and Christian Noboa (Russia); Renato Ibarra (Netherlands) and Narciso Mina (Mexico).
Tomorrow will be the first training with all the summoned players and on Wednesday the team will travel by a charter flight to Barranquilla. On thursday they will do the recognition of the court for Friday’s game that Ecuadorians considered that could, if they win, classify the Tri to Brazil 2014. The possibilities will remain intact if they do not win and hope will be transfered to the match against Bolivia next Tuesday 10.
Ecuador is positioned third with 21 points with a five goal difference, behind Argentina (26), Colombia (23) and followed by Chile (21-0 goal difference), Uruguay (16-3), Venezuela (16-4).
