The TRI “played against poverty “
Last Saturday, at the stadium Folke Anderson, in Esmeraldas, Ecuador’s National Soccer team became the ambassador of the campaign “Métele un gol a la probreza” (score a goal against poverty), organized by the defender of Barcelona Sporting Club, Frickson Erazo.
For the third consecutive year, the TRI-color joined with the intention of raising funds to entertain children and poor elderly in Esmeraldas. Those selected were directed by the guest Javier Rodriguez.
The starting lineup faced the Rocafuerte, team from Esmeraldas that played in the national tournament within the second category.
The match ended goalless and with a half filled stadium, however, Erazo thanked the attendees and their companions because “they came despite The holidays,” as the case if Guerrin who came from China to join the TRI.
“We hope to continue this initiative and ‘Métele un gol a la probreza’ can continue every year,” said Erazo.
