Today, Wednesday May 16th in Guayaquil, at the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum, the Third International Biennial of Painting Álvaro Noboa: The Elements of Nature was officially closed.

Nearly 200 works of art in various formats and techniques of the participating artists from over 20 nationalities, were qualified and selected by an outstanding jury made ​​up of two American art critics, Jeffrey Bishop and Joseph Roberts, along with the Bolivian painter Jose Luque, the Ecuadorian plastic artist Enrique Tabara and Felix Arauz.

Most of the exhibits in this Biennial were of neo-figurative style, which sought to recover forgotten basics such as drawing, shapes, volume and composition, as well as mastery of color and personal style.

Alvaro Noboa, Founding President of The Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum handed the first award of $10,000 to a young artist from Guayaquil, René Bohórquez, who painted “Encarnada.” Noboa also gave $5,000 to the second winner and $1,000 as Revelation award.
