Confrontations in Venezuelan Prison ‘La Planta’

The Venezuelan minister of Penitentiary Services, Iris Varela informed that the situation in the prison ‘La Planta’ is continual confrontation between the prisoners and officials.

According to Twitter a large explosion inside that occurred in the prison at 08:15 (GMT) caused the death of a civilian that lived in his home next to it.

People living near the prison informed that the fire inside has not receded and that several machine gun shots have been heard. The riot police used tear gas to control the situation.

At the moment the highway Francisco Fajardo is closed in both directions to avoid any danger on the people. (AV)
