The same happened with the pair Andrés Aráuz and Rafael Correa (UNES) , since the acceptance of the vice-presidential candidacy was not made within the specified period.

Correa was sentenced for the crime of bribery , for which he is disqualified from running; Like the previous one, the CNE gave him two days to designate the replacement and also correct the number of the citizen ID of the applicant Aráuz.

In the last hours the binomial of SUMA, Guillermo Celi and Verónica Sevilla went to the CNE to register their candidacy; After the process, Celi said that it is time for Ecuadorians to come together to work and solve health problems, education, entrepreneurship, and the fight against corruption.

Later Gerson Almeida and Martha Cecilia Villafuerte , from the United Ecuadorian movement , registered their binomial; “We are going to make a change of mind to lift the spirit of Ecuadorians, Ecuador is not broken, we are going to make history,” said Almeida. (I)
