Today Alberto Dahik will Attend to Court
Alberto Dahik, former Ecuadorian Vice President in the government of Sixto Duran-Ballen, must be submitted today to the secretariat of the First Criminal Chamber of the National Court of Justice (CNJ).
In compliance with the judge’s Hernán Ulloa decision, Dahik´s preventive detention may be replacing to be submitted to that body every fortnight. The former vice president could receive a final decision within fifteen days.
During the period of ten days, which includes weekends and Holidays, the parties must present evidence of charge and discharge, and after three additional days they will have to support them. Once this time, and after three days, the trial judge will have no alternative but to issue a final decision.
Alberto Dahik faces a criminal trial for the alleged misuse of funds reserved for the vice presidency for about 20 thousand billion sucres.
