Today, the biggest and most populous city in Ecuador, Guayaquil, is celebrating its 192 years of independence.

Main streets were crowded with parade floats, local personalities, beauty queens and students of the most representative schools of the city.

Jaime Nebot, Mayor of Guayaquil, and Deputy Mayor Doménica Tabacchi, placed offerings at the monument of the Independence heroes, located in the central part of the Plaza del Centenario.
