Today is the International Day Against Corruption
Posted On 09 Dec 2013
This Monday, December 9, is celebrated the International Day Against Corruption; one of the most terrible social, political and economic phenomena around the world.
On October 31, 2003, the General Assembly approved the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which entered into force in December, two years later.
Corruption, which has invaded all fields of democratic institutions, not only undermines the electoral process, but also perverts the law and stunt the foundation of economic, political, religious and human development.
The date was set to devote concrete actions against this social evil, both in the public and private spheres.
