Tommy Ramone, drummer for the punk band The Ramones dies
The drummer of the band The Ramones, Tommy Ramone, has died at age 62 years in New York, as reported in the Facebook account of the band.
Ramone, cancer patient, was born in Budapest (Hungary) and is the last of the original Ramones to die.
Joey Ramone, from Queens and who has his own street in New York, formed the legendary punk band in 1974 with his friends John Cummings, better known as Johnny Ramone and who also died of cancer in 2004, and Douglas Colvin or Dee Dee Ramone, who died of an overdose in 2002.
The band, which then included drummers Tommy and Marky Ramonein was dissolved in 1996 after the tour “Lollapalooza”, but the legacy left with songs like “I Wanna Be Sedated”, “Judy Is a Punk” or “Beat the Brat ” made them one of the most legendary names in punk industry.
