Tourism rises in a 14% compared to 2013

A measurement of the Research Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism reveals that between January and August 24, 2014 entered to Ecuador 1’009.665 tourists, representing an increase of 14% in relation with the same period of last year. Only in the first 24 days of this month, 154,228 arrivals of foreign visitors were recorded.

According to government sources, in 2013, the top of a million visitors was exceeded in October.

 According to the Ministry, the principal tourist source country is Colombia with 251,129, followed by United States with 184,540 and Peru with 112,801.
