Tourist was found with hypothermia on the slopes of a volcano

Jieun Rho, a 22-year-old Korean citizen was found after spending three days lost in the Rucu Pichincha volcano, at an altitude of 2,900 metres and a temperature that varies between 10 ° C in the day and below 0 ° C at night.

The young woman was found yesterday by paramedics from the Ministry of health in the northern mountain area, once she walked to a visible area for her rescue.

She was immediately transferred by helicopter to the police hospital, where doctors diagnosed dehydration and hypothermia.

Jieun Rho came to Ecuador two weeks ago and she planned to visit the surrounding areas of the volcano on Sunday and travel this week to Galapagos.
