Two military among 42 detainees in three operations

Among a total of 42 people arrested in the operations Link 95, 96 and 97 for crimes such as car theft, micro-trafficking and fuel smuggling, conducted in Los Rios, Sucumbíos, Pichincha and Guayas provinces, between last Sunday and yesterday morning, the presence of two active members of the Army as alleged ringleaders of a gang of smugglers concerns authorities.

Gustavo C. and Edison Ch. are the names of the sergeant and the corporal of the Army, respectively, who were arrested during the link 97, along with five Ecuadorian and a Venezuelan. They are accused of allegedly being part of a network dedicated to the smuggling of part of the fuel intended for the military barracks located in La Balvina, in the southeast of Quito.
