U. Catolica lost in Manta and favored Emelec

With the victory of Manta by 2-1, the main beneficiary was Emelec who maintains the lead over Universidad Catolica, its principal rival in the standings, three dates before the end of the second stage.
Yesterday, the team from Quito pledged its chances of winning the second stage of the Ecuadorian soccer championship and become a finalist, after falling by 2-1 against Manta, who took advantage of several defensive errors of Universidad Catolica.
The players lead by Jorge Celico are living a difficult situation, within a total of 32 points at the start of the date 19, and will watch with expectation the duel between Emelec (37 ) and Independiente José Terán (31) tomorrow, where the title could be defined.
The Quito team finished with ten players after the expulsion of Jonathan de la Cruz, at minute 51, and just scored the penalty that kicked Federico Laurito at minute 82.
The other games of date 19th are: Barcelona vs Liga de Quito; El Nacional vs Deportivo Quito; Liga de Loja vs Macara; and Deportivo Quevedo vs Cuenca.
