Ukrainian troops regain control in Mariupol
Members of the National Guard and troops of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, claim they have caught separatists this Friday in Mariupol city, in the east of the country, as part of its operations against the pro-Russian militia that controls various points of the region.
Offensive operations would have begun today in the early hours.
The Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, announced on his Facebook page: “at 10.34 hours (European time), the Ukrainian flag was hoisted in the city of Mariupol”.
Avakov has stated that there are no casualties among the ranks of the Ukrainian troops in the skirmishes of that city, although four officers were injured.
He also assured that as a result of the military operation in Mariupol, the government has regained control of a stretch of 120 kilometers of the Russian border.
