UN to Analyze 30-S Revolt

In order to analyze the events that occurred after the Ecuadorian police revolt on September 30, 2010 (30-S), a mission of the United Nations (UN) arrived yesterday to Ecuador.

Oscar Fernandez Taranco, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs of the UN and Elio Tamburi, official international organization head this delegation.

Ricardo Patiño, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Maria Fernanda Espinosa, Minister of Heritage coordinator were the first to join the mission.

The international delegates announced for today a meeting with the Coordinating Ministry of Politics. They will also have a pending meeting with the ombudsman.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement, the UN mission will remain in the country until January 20th.
