The Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is leading the polls in Iowa caucuses with 34 votes ahead of Mitt Romney. Iowa’s Des Moines Registers newspaper reported that while Santorum held the 34-vote advantage, results from eight precincts were totally lost.

Romney though to have won the January 3 caucuses by eight votes, meanwhile officials found inaccuracies in 131 precincts, although the new changes didn’t affected the two leaders. The certified votes for Santorum were of 29,829 while Romney has 29,805 votes.

“The results from Iowa caucus night revealed a virtual tie,” said Romney regarding the vote advantage of his rival, Rick Santorum. (AV)
