Posted On 15 Aug 2012

Immigrants in the US
Starting today, hundreds of thousands of undocumented youth in the U.S., may submit their applications to receive the “deferred action” which will allow them to delay their deportation for two years and obtain a temporary work permit.
The process to apply for suspension of deportation began today, however the forms and instructions were available yesterday through the website www.uscis.gov.
Alejandro Mayorkas, director of the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, for its acronym in English), emphasized that this deferred action was created as a renewable temporary relief and in no way confers any legal status or a path to citizenship.
