Universal justice reform will be processed fast-track
The Spanish Parliament approved this Thursday, with the votes of the ruling Popular Party (PP centre-right), a process by way of urgency of the reform that limits the performance of the Spanish judges in cases of universal justice.
The opposition denounced it as an “improper abuse” from the absolute majority of the PP to impose a procedure that implies to process the reform without going through the amendments debate, for this reason the entire opposition was absent at the time of the vote.
The Spanish Minister of Justice, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, has not questioned opposition´s stand up by stating that PP has “as much legitimacy” to present an initiative like the rest of the groups for refusing to participate in the vote if they consider it for an answer.
During the debate, the Socialist Party (PSOE), main opposition party, criticized the “urgency” of the PP to liquidate the universal justice has led to outwit the powers of the legislature and skip “the rules of the game” by not having the support of any other parliamentary groups.
