Unlicensed hotels will be regulated by the Ministry of Tourism

Lodging centers for tourists in Guayaquil are promoted through web pages, these are known as unlicensed hotels. “We will make a schedule in which we will identify these people and we will invite them to be regularized. If they do not abide the provision we will proceed to close them down,” said Veronica Baquerizo, Zonal Coordinator 5 and 8 of the Ministry of Tourism.
According to data from the ministry, 416 037 foreign visitors were recorded, who represent an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period last year, a positive increase for the country and profiteer by the unlicensed, that take 30% of the tourists, said Holbach Muñeton, president of the National Federation of Chambers of Tourism.
