Vargas Llosa is Marquis of Spain
King Juan Carlos of Spain granted the noble title of Marquis to the writer Mario Vargas Llosa; football coach Vicente Del Bosque; Professor Aurelio Menéndez; and businessman Juan Miguel Villar Mir. The unusual and much selected appointments have been announced today by the king’s house and have been published in the Official Gazette.
The newest Literature Nobel, the Peruvian-Spanish writer Vargas Llosa has received the title of Marques de Vargas Llosa by Don Juan Carlos for his “universally appreciated, outstanding contribution to literature and Spanish language, so I want to show my real appreciation that is why I come to confer the title for him and his successors.”
The last 10 December he received from King Carl Gustaf of Sweden the medal and diploma that credited him as Literature Nobel Prize 2010.
