Venezuela tendrá la primera central nuclear de América del Sur

La primera central nuclear será construida en Venezuela después de que sus respectivos líderes, el Presidente Hugo Chávez y el mandatario Dmitri Medvedev firmaron un acuerdo, este viernes en Moscú.

Serguei Kirienko y el directivo de la Agencia rusa de energía atómica RosAtom en compañía de un responsable venezolano.

“¿Por qué Venezuela no tendría una central?, comentó el presidente ruso durante una conferencia tras firmar el acuerdo.

“Ello otorga independencia, incluso en el caso de caída de las cotizaciones del petróleo. Nuestras economías son vulnerables, hemos hablado de ello”, añadió Medvedev.

Durante el pasado abril, el Primer ministro ruso, Vladimir Putin visitó Caracas para negociar el asunto de la central nuclear.
