Venezuelan Minister Chavez reported Favourable Recovery

Ernesto Villegas, the current Minister of Communication of Venezuela, reported that President Hugo Chavez is well on his recovery after the complex surgery he underwent in Cuba this week due to a recurrence of his cancer.

Villegas said in a televised message that Chavez, 58, has a “progressive and favourable recovery,” and that his vital signs are “normal“.

The Communication Minister said the president suffered “complications” during last Tuesday’s surgery resulting from a “bleeding“, but doctors were able to perform a “corrective action” on time to fix the situation.
