Venezuelan opposition choose the new MUD’s leader
The Bureau of Democratic Unity (MUD for its Spanish acronym), formed by the Venezuelan opposition this Wednesday named officially as head of the Executive Secretariat of the MUD, the journalist Jesús Torrealba.
Torrealba, replaces in the position to Ramon Guillermo Aveledo, who resigned on July 30 amid accusations and mistrust, which then threatened to implode in the alliance.
“We will build more democracy, we will face this totalitarian regime. The news is that the MUD is going to the streets,” Torrealba said in a press conference.
The new secretary warned that they will focus on the internal coordination of the twenty organizations in the MUD and not in its representation in the media.
He also announced a protest march in Caracas on October 4 and the implementation of a plan of national movilizations.
