VI Business Summit in Cartagena, Colombia

On April 13 the VI Summit of the Americas was held in Cartagena, Colombia, where entrepreneurs across the region sought political and social issues and particularly the corporate development in the economic and human growth in Latin America.

Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos was asked to read out the keynote address at the Business Summit. Later, Luis Alberto Moreno, president of the International Development Bank (IDB), performed the official opening of the first topic to be discussed: Globalization and Development. Following the opening ceremony, entrepreneurs and leaders had a Networking lunch.

In return, U.S. Secretary Hilary Clinton and Mauricio Cárdenas, Minister of Mines and Energy of Colombia presented their ideas on how to connect “the Americas” in a socio-cultural project for 2022.

 The singer Shakira, activist for Education, addressed the employers to ask for commitment in the education of children and young people, claiming that their formation is not only government work, but also private entrepreneurs.

Countries like Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, El Salvador, Peru and others were represented by their presidents, delegates at this meeting. Ecuadorian businessmen Werner Moeller and Alvaro Noboa attended the business summit.
