Ecuadornews:

The former vice-president of Ecuador María Alejandra Vicuña went before the Prosecutor’s Office of her country to present a second version of a case of irregular reception of donations for her political movement, which forced her to leave the government last December.
The former vice-president, who arrived at the Office of the Prosecutor in a car of the Vice-Presidency, was received outside the Public Prosecutor’s Office by her supporters who defended her innocence.
Angel Sagbay and Carla Obando, ex-consultants from Vicuña denounced that she had received irregular donations from her employees to finance her movement: Alianza Bolivariana Alfarista (ABA).
Sagbay and Obando affirmed that they deposited into the Vicuña account amounts of their salary as a fee for the ABA and to stay in the positions when the former vice-president served as legislator between 2011 and 2013.
On December 4, Vicuña presented her irrevocable resignation to the position of vice president, and six days later the National Assembly appointed Otto Sonnenholzner as her replacement.
On the other hand, the Office of the Prosecutor called for tomorrow, Tuesday, Obando to render her second version on this case. (I)
