Video “Guayaquil Rebelde” will be presented today to students

As part of the commemoration of the youth uprising on June 2nd and 3rd of 1959, today started the delivery of a video in schools all around the city, as part of the civic program “Guayaquil Rebelde” (Rebel Guayaquil), promoted by the Political leadership of Guayaquil. The video is now on the social network, Youtube.

This material questions the “so-called partocracy and the oligarchic power” of the city, who are accused of trying to distort the history of the city and tell it at their convenience, which has generated conflicting opinions and controversy in some sectors.

The video discusses the following topics: Guayaquil Independence on October 9, 1820; the Revolution of March in 1845; the Alfarist Revolution on June 5, 1895; the slaughter known as the crosses on the water, on November 15 1922,;the so-called Glorious, on May 28, 1944, and the youth uprising of June 2 and 3 of 1959.
