British Foreign Minister considers meeting with Ricardo Patino

William Hague
William Hague, the British foreign minister, is considering meeting with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Ricardo Patino, during the Ecuadorian visit to London, which aims to find a solution to the case of Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks.
“We have been informed of the intention of Mr. Patino to travel to London (June 16) and now we are considering a request for meeting with the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister,” said a Foreign Office spokesman to EFE. “We hope this visit will contribute to our common commitment to a diplomatic solution to this issue,” he added.
The Ecuadorian government confirmed that Patino would meet with Assange, around June 19, as the first anniversary of his confinement at the Embassy of Ecuador in London closes-in, Assange settled there to avoid extradition to Sweden, where justice wants to question on charges of alleged sex crimes.
